Photography Course Structure

Our photography courses are specifically designed to help you absorb as much knowledge and new skills in photography as possible. Advanced teaching techniques are used to make it easier than ever to learn so many new things – all whilst keeping it easy and simple for your skill-level.

The course designers which have worked on the course you will be taking have used spiral curriculums to focus and build your knowledge. The course will take you step-by-step through the units of your course, all easily accessible via our online interface which you access from your very own computer.

This simple method allows us to teach you advanced photography knowledge and to take your photography skills to a whole new level.

Your course now have the privilege of being accredited by the Open College Network, a nationally recognised awarding body. This is not a requirement, but the option is there to receive a nationally recognised qualification alongside your new-found photographic knowledge. This is perfect for CV's, portfolios and additional experience.

If you're interested, please add this to your booking form. Depending on your course, you can achieve level 2 (GCSE equivalent) or level 3 (A-level equivalent).

Our photography tutors have had many years experience in this industry and KNOW the advanced skills behind master photography. We also know the most advanced teaching methods, which means we can pass this knowledge onto you flawlessly and easily.

You can enter the course only being able to take holiday snaps, and leave the course being able to take highly advanced, professional photography images.

You're assigned a personal tutor with each course and it’s this expert which will mark your work and provide constructive feedback. Upon completion your submission will also be internally verified by another trained tutor.

Once you have achieved a satisfactory level, you will be awarded a pass in your relevant course and issued your completion certificate (see below).

At this stage the OCN students would work with their personal tutors to build their OCN portfolio submission.

If you have not achieved the required skill level with your first submission, we pledge our continuing support to help you and amend your submission until it is of an acceptable level.

The learning zone (how it works).

The learning zone is an password protected learning area within our website, which you can log into via your own computer. Inside you will find all course hand-outs and course materials which you can then work through. As soon as you enroll you will receive a username and password for your own personal account on the learning zone. You will have an entire year to complete each course, from the comfort of your own computer! If you need more than 12 months, we are also happy to extend this time, without any additional charge. We are also happy to give you life-time access to the course materials.

You will also have full contact with your professional and personal tutor. The tutor will give you all of the support, tips, advice and teachings you require.
